Gala Dinner at Palazzo Grimaldi della Meridiana
The Gala Dinner of Eurographics2019 will be curated by Capurro Ricevimenti, one of Italy’s most renowned banqueting businesses, responsible over the years for the some of the country’s most exclusive and high profile parties and receptions.
A surprisingly elegant structure in which different architectures and styles coexist harmoniously, frescoes and pictorial decorations of great value, a delightful outdoor space, the central position in the most visited historical area of Genoa: these are the characteristics of Palazzo della Meridiana, a sixteenth-century historical residence that reopened its rooms in Autumn 2010.
The building, one of the first and most significant examples of the architectural renewal of Genoa, takes its name from the sundial designed on its facade and gives its name to the square below, just at the corner with the sumptuous Via Garibaldi, formerly Strada Nuova.
Included among the Rolli, a system of 42 Genoese palaces that became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006, the Palace is a very popular location for art exhibitions, public events and private ceremonies. During the Eurographics period, the Palace will host the exhibition "Caravaggio and the Genoese: clients, collectors, painters".
Palazzo della Meridiana is located in Piazza della Meridiana, at the end of via Garibaldi (Strada Nuova). The entrance to the building is on Salita S. Francesco, 4. The Palace is within walking distance (approximatively 20 minutes) from the conference venue, and the route through the old city is mostly pedestrian.
More information will come shortly about the schedule.
